ESG Integration

TDR works collaboratively with portfolio company management teams to deliver sustainable, positive and transformational change within our businesses. By integrating responsible business practices within our portfolio company growth plans, we can effectively manage Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) risks whilst delivering against value creation opportunities.

Our ESG policy sets out our firm-wide commitment to ESG management, covering roles and responsibilities, our integration of ESG considerations across the deal cycle, reporting, communications and how TDR manages its own direct impacts.

Our Head of ESG & Sustainability, Nigel Smith, is Chair of TDR’s Responsible Investment Committee, which meets quarterly to review portfolio company performance and ensure we operate responsibly. Nigel works closely with portfolio companies to embed ESG into their strategies, attending ESG committee meetings, completing performance reviews and acting as a critical friend. Best practice will often be facilitated by cross portfolio forums and webinars on key topics.

Our Head of ESG & Sustainability is responsible for the distribution and collation of quarterly ESG reporting and annual ESG key performance indicators across all portfolio companies. These reports cover progress against key material risks and opportunities and are reviewed by our Responsible Investment Committee. Feedback is provided to the portfolio companies, TDR Partners and the deal team regarding concerns or further opportunities.
