We are pleased to announce that TDR Capital (“TDR”) has completed the acquisition of Zuber Issa’s shares in Asda and has become the majority shareholder with a 67.5% ownership. Moshin Issa and Walmart Inc remain co-shareholders in the business.
Since first investing in ASDA in 2021, TDR has worked alongside the other shareholders and Asda management to accelerate the company’s growth strategy, with a particular focus on delivering low prices to customers and expanding into the growing convenience retail segment.
As majority owner, TDR Capital will continue to work closely with the Asda management team and colleagues across the business to drive sustainable, long-term growth and deliver great value for customers.
